Welcome to the Neiffer Ranch Poultry Processing FAQ! We’ve gathered answers to the most common questions we get about our processing services. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to contact us — we’re happy to help!

🐓 What birds do you process?

We currently process Cornish Cross chickens and turkeys. We’re planning to add ducks, geese, and rabbits in the near future. Please note that hens and other breeds are processed at a different rate.

💰 How much does it cost?

• Cornish Cross chickens: $6 per bird

• Hens and other breeds: Priced separately — contact us for details

📅 How do I book a processing date?

We process by appointment only. To book a date:

1. Fill out our booking form (coming soon!)

2. Contact us via email or phone to confirm your appointment.

Slots are limited, so book early!

🛁 What does whole bird processing include?

Our whole bird processing service includes:

• Scalding

• Plucking

• Eviscerating

• Shrink-wrapping

Your birds will be returned freezer-ready.

🐔 Can you process birds from out of state?

Yes! We can process out-of-state birds, including from Washington, but those birds must be for personal use onlyand cannot be resold.

🌱 What happens to the waste?

We compost all waste to recycle nutrients back into our pastures. Nothing goes to waste here.

🛠️ Do you offer cut-up services?

Not yet! We currently offer whole bird processing only, but we’re working on adding more services soon.

🏷️ Can you provide custom labels?

Yes, we offer custom labels for your processed birds. This is great if you plan to sell within Oregon. Contact us for more details.

⚠️ Are there any rules or regulations I should know about?

Yes, here are some key things to keep in mind:

• We are ODA-licensed, which means processed birds can only be resold within Oregon.

• All birds must arrive clean and healthy. We reserve the right to refuse any birds that do not meet our health standards.

🛒 Can I ship my birds to you?

We’re not set up for shipping just yet. However, you’re welcome to arrange your own return shipping through a local trucking company. Just remember — processed birds can only be resold in Oregon.
